DfT Open call for evidence - Integrated National Transport Strategy: a call for ideas

Consultation description:

The Department for Transport (DfT) is currently developing a new strategy that will outline the high-level direction for how transport should be designed, built, and operated across England over the next decade. This strategy will set a single national vision that places people and their needs at the core of decision-making, while also empowering local leaders to deliver integrated transport solutions tailored to the specific needs of their communities.

This consultation process is to ensure that your voice is heard and that the strategy reflects the needs of all those who rely on and are impacted by public transportation.

What the Strategy Aims to Achieve:

  • Putting People at the Heart of Transport: Ensuring transport services are designed with the needs of the users as a priority, focusing on accessibility, affordability, and inclusivity.

  • Empowering Local Leaders: Providing leaders with the tools and support to deliver transport solutions that are tailored to meet the unique needs of their communities. This includes promoting more integrated and sustainable local transport networks.

  • A National Vision for the Future: Establishing a cohesive, long-term vision for transport across England, ensuring the system is adaptable to emerging trends, technologies, and environmental priorities.

How to Participate:

We encourage all individuals, businesses, community groups, and local authorities to share their views through this consultation. You can respond to the questions directly or provide any additional thoughts or suggestions that you believe will contribute to the strategy’s development.
