HEATHROW PASSENGER FORUM’S BOARDING CALL FOR INDEPENDENT MEMBERS

Over the next month the Heathrow Passenger Forum chair Mark Izatt is looking to bring in some new, independent members.

The role is voluntary but it is insight rich. You get an opportunity to make a difference and it is an interesting role.

Is Heathrow your regular airport?

Do you take over 9 return flights a year?

Would you like an opportunity to represent your fellow passengers?

Can you spare 4 afternoons per year?

If it is “yes” to all 4 questions, then we have an exciting opportunity for you to help make a difference to your fellow Heathrow passengers.

This year Heathrow will make possible almost 84 million passenger journeys, a new record. It’s the role of the Heathrow Passenger Forum, and especially its independent members, to help ensure that passengers departing, arriving and connecting through the airport have a great experience.

The Forum does this by monitoring the end-to-end passenger experience, considering any issue in connection with Heathrow that would impact passengers and reports its conclusions and recommendations to both the airport and its sponsoring body, the Council for the Independent Scrutiny of Heathrow Airport (CISHA).

The Forum holds quarterly afternoon meetings at Heathrow which last just over 2 hours to receive briefings and opinions from Heathrow, other stakeholders and external experts together with our own collective travel experience. These meetings are timetabled well in advance (to allow you to schedule the commitment) and usually end with an informal drink.

We pay travel expenses within the M25, and key commuter locations.

Additionally, we do deep dives airside. In the past these have included visits to the control tower, baggage systems, and installation of enhancements such as new security lanes.

You must be available to attend a “taster” meeting on Tuesday 10th December in the afternoon at Heathrow.

This will give you the opportunity to meet us and vice versa.

HOW TO APPLY

Applying could not be easier. Simply send one email which contains your and public social media handles you have including LinkedIn and answer these four questions;

(1) Where do you live?

(2) What’s your favourite international destination and why?

(3) What was your last Heathrow Airport experience?

(4) From your own experience, what does an international airport you know do better than Heathrow.

Send your email to info@cisha.org

The closing date is 29th November 2024.

So pretend you are experiencing a last-minute gate change and hurry!
